Teal Annual Review 2022

Another year has passed and we look back with a positive outlook. In this article, we would like to focus on the events from 2022 and how we have adapted and evolved. The Covid 19 situation has improved throughout the year and we look forward to taking you along on our year in review.

Team spirit and growth at TEAL

The heart of our company is our valuable and highly skilled employees. So it’s only natural that we begin our review of the year at this point. This year we hired five new colleagues, one of them in consulting and four trainees. With colleagues like Andreas, Eike, Sven, Niklas and Till, we have significantly strengthened our team and are well positioned for the coming year. The knowledge and strengths of each individual fit perfectly into the team and our philosophy – everyone has settled in quickly and we wouldn’t want to miss anyone.

In 2022, we successfully continued our twelve-month trainee program. Through our pilot project, we gave young talent the opportunity to make their mark in the world of cybersecurity and gain valuable experience. This step enables our current and future trainees to receive comprehensive and targeted training in the areas of information security architecture, infrastructure assessments, Windows Active Directory and Windows management systems. Andreas Möller, an IT consultant and project manager with twenty years of experience in the IT industry, plays a central role in this process as a mentor to new trainees.

Digital or real team events? Luck was on our side, and with the improved situation at Covid, we were even able to hold three real team events during the year. In May, July and November we were able to spend three days each in Cologne, Frankfurt and our headquarters in Düsseldorf and work in groups on many internal topics.

Tomorrow’s digital customer service starts today

As a result of the pandemic, the world of consulting has also largely moved into the digital realm, opening new doors. Even we could not imagine a few years ago that IT consulting and services would be almost 100% virtual.

We have not only watched the evolution of remote work, we have experienced it firsthand. Our customers and we had to adapt to the unfamiliar situation and reduce our colleagues’ usual travel to clients to zero. However, together with our customers, we quickly came to an agreement on home-office work and found a well-balanced cooperation in order to smoothly realize projects remotely.

For this reason, we dared to adapt our company structure to the given conditions and move with the changing times. As of this year, we can also contractually guarantee our entire team the ability to work from anywhere at any time and to communicate with clients via collaboration tools. Travel time is limited to a maximum of 10 days per quarter. An incredible bonus for the work-life balance of all colleagues. Of course, we also want to keep the option open to work on-site at the client’s location to facilitate face-to-face interactions during initial meetings, next steps or milestones. Interpersonal relationships are also very important.

Our Customer Relationships & 2023 Roadmap

In the year under review, we continued to strengthen our long-term customer relationships and gained exciting new customers. Our consulting approach of being a “trusted advisor” to help our customers achieve sustainable improvements in their IT security environment is paying off.

In addition to our traditional consulting activities, we were able to put our products and services to work for several customers.

Speaking of products! This year we added a PKI audit to the existing security assessment. Here, too, we have invested a lot of time and know-how in the last few months. With the two new products TEAL Audit Proof (TAP) and the Enforce Suite we have added two key solutions to our portfolio and have already started the first POCs in customer projects.

Also new: Since the beginning of the year, we are the European partner for the use of BloodHound Enterprise.

Excursus Products & Services:

    • BloodHound Enterprise is an attack path management solution that continuously maps and quantifies Active Directory attack paths. You can eliminate millions or even billions of attack paths within your existing architecture and eliminate attacker techniques. Our goal is to continuously improve security in enterprise environments and support you with highly efficient solutions as a fully managed service provider.
    • With TAP, you can quickly and easily get a compliance view of your client/server systems. Easy-to-generate HTML reports give you visibility into compliance against common industry standards such as CIS or BSI. This allows you to reliably find and eliminate configuration gaps – effective hardening analysis with little effort.
    • With Enforce Suite, we offer a comprehensive enterprise security solution for continuous monitoring of your clients and servers. Enforce Suite is a centralized management tool that lets you configure and monitor hardening policies based on industry standards. We can help you implement the Enforce Suite and provide professional management of your Enforce solution with our Managed Service offering. 

Because, as we all know, you never stop learning. That is why our consultants have already successfully completed the ITIL 4 certification in 2021, which provides an excellent practical and flexible basis for supporting companies on their way into the new world of digital transformation. It is also the perfect foundation for delving deeper into the cloud and expanding our security expertise.
